It might seem an unlikely hero, but salt is great for drawing moisture off carpets. You’ll know when it’s worked its magic when salt granules have turned pink the next day. Simply vacuum to finish. Home cleaning solutions #2 – Pet accidents? Use Vinegar.

Like the previous tip, the key here is to act fast! Begin by clearing up excess pet urine with some paper towels. Then mix one-part white vinegar with one-part water to create a cleaning solution. Pour the solution onto the stained area then let it sit for 10 minutes. Finally use a layer of paper towels to soak up any remaining excess liquid. Once the area is almost dry, finish-up by sprinkling a little baking soda on the area to absorb the odour and allow it to settle for at least 15 minutes. Vacuum and you’re done! Home cleaning solutions #3 – Kitchen grease stains? Use Lemon & Salt.

For greasy stains in the kitchen, look no further than your yellow best friend – lemons duh! Begin by liberally sprinkling salt all over the stained areas, ensuring it’s completely covered. Then cut a lemon in half and squeeze some lemon juice over salt to form a paste. Proceed to scrub using the cut side of the lemon, rubbing salt and lemon juice into the stain. Allow the lemon and salt mixture to sit overnight, then rinse with warm water and wipe clean with a wet cloth for a remarkable shine and citrusy finish.
